Foundation for Moral Law Agrees to Defend Evangelist Michael Marcavage

Foundation for Moral Law Agrees to Defend Evangelist Michael Marcavage, Arrested for Publicly Preaching to Halloween Revelers in Salem, Mass.

MEDIA ADVISORY, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Foundation for Moral Law, a non-profit, religious-liberties legal organization led by Judge Roy Moore, has agreed to represent Michael Marcavage of Repent America against the misdemeanor charges filed against him for preaching in a Salem, Mass. public square on Halloween night, Oct. 31, 2007. Even though Salem's laws allow the use of speech amplification until 10:00 p.m., Salem police officers on Halloween night confiscated Mr. Marcavage's megaphone at 8:30 p.m., threw him to the ground, and arrested him on charges of allegedly violating the noise ordinance and "disorderly conduct"--all for calmly preaching the gospel to a large crowd of Halloween revelers. See the video of Mr. Marcavage's arrest here.

About this case, Judge Moore said:

"Michael Marcavage believes he is called by God to preach a message of repentance and forgiveness of sin. He is just as free to preach that message in Salem, Mass., as the Halloween party-goers are free to listen to, disagree with, or ignore him. Instead of protecting his rights to free speech and freedom of religion, however, the Salem police decided to shut Mr. Marcavage up by unlawfully arresting and charging him. It seems that the days of "witch hunts" are not over in Salem."

Attorneys at the Foundation for Moral Law will vigorously defend Mr. Marcavage against the charges brought against him. The next court hearing in this case is scheduled in Salem District Court for January 23, 2008. If the case is not dismissed, a trial will most likely be scheduled within the next month or so.

The Foundation for Moral Law, a national non-profit legal organization, is located in Montgomery, Alabama, and is dedicated to restoring the knowledge of God in law and government through litigation relating to moral issues and religious liberty, as well as education consisting of forums for pastors, judges, and the general public.

Adult Children Find Help as Caregivers

Adult Children Find Help as Caregivers

ENUMCLAW, Wash., Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- As medical advances guarantee that an ever-increasing number of people will live longer, and with 76 million baby boomers being added to that number, there is a greater increase in the number of people facing Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Most family caregivers feel overwhelmed; they don't know what to do to find the help they need for their aging parents. This is the situation Barbara Christain and her siblings found themselves in as their parents aged and became more like children with the children finding that they needed to take control. Says Christain, "Many decisions had to be made over the years. The transition from people who were in total control of their lives to people who were totally dependent required a change of lifestyle on everyone's part. We all had to learn our new roles."

During nine-years of being a caregiver for her parents, one of whom had Alzheimer's, Christain discovered ways to cope and find the assistance needed to make caregiving possible. In her new book, "Take My Hand Now", this retired teacher and school counselor shares with her readers how to live with and overcome the stress that caregiving can bring. This how-to book tells how to become an advocate for parents. She says that in the midst of worry, frustration and arguments joy can still be found. "This is a story of faith, humor and God's unfailing grace," says Christain.

The author explains that there are support groups ready to help caregivers, the Internet provides support and information, and even nursing homes will provide a one- or two-week respite for burned-out family members who need a break. She tells caregivers, "It is imperative that you take care of yourself so that you can continue to be there for them."

Christain says that in many ways this is a love story about her parents. "I had a burden on my heart to tell this story."

'Your Ministry Matters:' Experts Affirm Value of Smaller Churches in Conferences Held Nationwide

'Your Ministry Matters:' Experts Affirm Value of Smaller Churches in Conferences Held Nationwide

CINCINNATI, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- They serve as many as a quarter of a million churches, but they remain for the most part unnoticed.

They are the leaders of the smaller church in America. Statistics vary, but by most counts, the majority of Protestant churches in America are small, with some 225,000 congregations estimated to have fewer than 125 people in worship each week.

Meanwhile, other statistics also note the majority of American churches are not growing, and 4,000 close each year. Not surprisingly, the number of Americans with no church affiliation continues to rise, now almost 65% of the population.

In light of these statistics, the Energizing Smaller Churches Network (ESCN) believes leaders of smaller churches serve a vital role, even though they often undervalue their contributions.

This year, it is bringing a one-day conference, "Your Ministry Matters," to 19 cities to encourage and reaffirm the importance of smaller churches and their leaders.

Designed for ministers and volunteer leaders from churches of 200 or less, the event will pack workshops, speakers and experts into a one-day conference.

Seasoned leaders with demonstrated commitment to and love for smaller churches will provide keynote sessions, drawing on decades of ministry experience to challenge leaders to a new view of their ministries that allows them to cast new vision and become reenergized.

In addition, local workshop leaders will offer sessions on outreach, developing leaders, team building, worship, youth and children's ministry, and finances.

"The role smaller churches play is vital to the kingdom as a whole," said ESCN director Shawn McMullen. "We want men and women to come away from this conference with a renewed sense of value for their personal ministries and for the churches they serve because it's easy to undervalue our own work. With that encouragement, we want leaders to find energy for casting new vision for their ministries, regardless of the size of their congregation or community.

"The conference will above all be practical," he continued, "with Q and A sessions and specialized workshops that will offer step-by-step instructions, specific tools, and helpful resources for effective smaller church ministries."

ESCN's spring conferences begin this month, and the schedule includes:

Saturday, January 26, at Boise Bible College, Boise, Idaho;
Thursday, January 31, at Dallas Christian College, Dallas;
Saturday, March 1, at Central Christian College, Moberly, Mo.;
Saturday, March 15, Summit Christian College, Scottsbluff, Neb.;
Saturday, March 29, at Alberta Christian College, Calgary, Alberta, Canada;
Saturday, April 5, at the Oregon Christian Convention Conference Center, Turner, Ore.;
Saturday, April 12, Manhattan Christian College, Manhattan, Kansas;
Saturday, April 19, St. Louis Christian College, Florissant, Mo.
Saturday, May 17, Kentucky Christian University, Grayson, Ky.

The fall conference schedule will offer 10 additional conferences in Minnesota, Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri, Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska, Ohio, and Georgia. A complete schedule and registration information is available at www.escnetwork.org.

ESCN, a national organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio, seeks to provide training and resources for churches of 200 members or less. Through conferences, print resources, Internet communications consultation and relationship building, ESCN promotes the health and growth of smaller churches by affirming their value and enlarging their vision. More information is available at www.escnetwork.org. It is sponsored by Standard Publishing, also based in Cincinnati.

Churches are encouraged to come as a group and bring their volunteer leaders. Cost for the conference is $49 per person ($10 for full-time college students) if pre-registered, or $59 at the door. The conference cost includes lunch and parking, in addition to materials. For more information or to register, go to www.escnetwork.org.

Since 1866, Standard Publishing has been providing true-to-the-Bible resources that inspire, educate, and motivate Christians to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Standard creates a wide array of Christian products and resources for churches and families. For more information, visit www.standardpub.com.

Right To Life Leaders Battle Over Romney

Right To Life Leaders Battle Over Romney
National RTL and Bob Jones III vs. American Right To Life

DENVER, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- American RTL Action president Steve Curtis is challenging the pro-life leadership of South Carolina's Bob Jones III and of National Right To Life for their support of pro-abortion Mitt Romney for president. Curtis is the former president of the Colorado Republican Party. The anti-Romney TV ads his new 527 group is running in early contest states like South Carolina have garnered media coverage including being aired by ABC's World News Tonight and the Fox News Channel. The political group's website, ARTLaction.com, documents with links to mainstream media sources, and audio and video clips of the candidate himself, Romney's aggressive and most recent pro-abortion record:

Mitt Romney claims, "On every piece of legislation, I came down on the side of life." That is a lie. In April 2006 he signed the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Plan that pays for even elective abortions. Romney today falsely claims a 1981 court ruling about "medically necessary" abortions forced him to provide tax-funded elective abortion into law, showing he prioritizes socialized "health care" over protecting kids, even when it pays to kill them. Romney gave a permanent seat on the Massachusetts health payment policy advisory board to the nation's leading abortionists at Planned Parenthood. Romney signed the 2005 bill that promotes chemical abortions with Plan B. As Governor he appointed openly pro-abortion Democrat Matt Nestor to a district court; and disputing a ruling from his own state health department Romney personally argued that pro-life hospitals must dispense abortifacients. Romney claims to have been personally pro-life for many years, but also claims a recent pro-life conversion on Nov. 9, 2004 while talking to Harvard researcher Douglas Melton about embryonic stem cells. However Mitt still openly supports killing the baby of a rapist, and killing the tiniest of humans for research. Dr. Melton has even disputed Romney's account of their conversation. Pro- life Romney even attended a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. In October 2005 Romney asked the federal government for a waiver for a major increase in funding for abortion "counseling" and for tax-funded abortifacients. During the years that Romney says he was personally pro-life he aggressively claimed to be second-to-none in asserting abortion as an essential right. And the Weekly Standard reports him telling the pro-abortion activists at NARAL, "you need someone like me in Washington." [see corroborating links for all claims]

"The evidence is indisputable-- Mitt Romney is lying to get Christian votes," said vice president of ARTL Action, Columbine dad Brian Rohrbough. "Pro-life leaders like Bob Jones III have been deceived by Mitt Romney and American Right To Life Action calls upon Dr. Jones to retract his endorsement of this pro- abortion politician."

Denver-based "American Right To Life Action also calls National RTL's support of Mitt Romney a betrayal of the innocent," said Curtis. NRTL is playing the odds, and "doubled down," officially endorsing anti- human life amendment Fred Thompson, while supporting their own longtime general counsel for serving as a "key advisor" to the Romney campaign. "The Republican National Committee has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to NRTL, which calls into question NRTL's loyalty to the unborn," added Curtis, "especially now that its political architect, James Bopp, is endorsing a pro-abortion candidate like Mitt Romney who plainly lies to deceive pro-lifers."

Framework for Resolving Religious and Sexual Orientation Conflicts Slated for Review

Framework for Resolving Religious and Sexual Orientation Conflicts Slated for Review

MEDIA ADVISORY, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Sexual Identity Therapy Framework, authored by Warren Throckmorton and Mark Yarhouse, will be reviewed in 2008 for possible revision. Proposed as a means to help counselors work with clients who experience religious and value conflict surrounding same-sex sexual attractions, the Framework is endorsed by Nicholas Cummings, the father of managed behavioral healthcare and Robert Spitzer, the architect of modern psychiatric diagnosis. The framework respects diversity of sexual orientation and religious practice and anticipates a planned review of sexual orientation counseling by professional mental health associations during 2008.

"We believe this area of counseling practice is changing rapidly and we want to be sensitive to how therapists and consumers of sexual identity therapy believe the framework helps or hinders client-valued outcomes. We want to hear from professionals and consumers alike," said Dr. Throckmorton.

The authors are asking for public and professional comment on the Framework though the end of February, 2008.

Interested persons can download and review the Framework at http://www.sexualidentity.blogspot.com . One may leave comment there or send extended comments to Warren Throckmorton at ewthrockmorton@gcc.edu. and/or Mark Yarhouse at markyar@regent.edu. Therapists and others interested in a registry of those who adhere to the Framework should visit, http://www.sexualidentityinstitute.org.

Selected endorsements:

I have reviewed the sexual identity framework written by Warren Throckmorton and Mark Yarhouse. This framework provides a very necessary outline to help therapists address the important concerns of clients who are in conflict over their homosexual attractions. The work of Drs. Throckmorton and Yarhouse transcend polarized debates about whether gays can change their sexual orientation. Rather, this framework helps therapists work with clients to craft solutions tailored to their individual situations and personal beliefs and values. I support this framework and hope it is widely implemented.

--Robert L. Spitzer, M.D., is Professor of Psychiatry, Columbia University, New York State Psychiatric Institute, New York City, NY. Dr. Spitzer was Chairman of the committee that developed the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental and Emotional Disorders, 3rd Edition and 3rd Edition (Revised).

Drs. Throckmorton and Yarhouse have brilliantly resolved contention in psychotherapy by providing the field with unbiased guidelines that are responsive to scientific evidence, are sensitive to professional practice, and which restore patient determination in choosing his/her goals in psychotherapy.

Dr. Cummings was the founder of the four campuses of the California School of Professional Psychology, the National Academies of Practice, and the American Managed Behavioral Healthcare Association. Dr. Cummings is the co-editor with Rogers Wright of Destructive Trends in Mental Health.

New Issue of RELEVANT Magazine Reveals Political Opinions of Young Christian Voters

New Issue of RELEVANT Magazine Reveals Political Opinions of Young Christian Voters

The January 2008 issue's special politics section features a national readers poll with surprising results
MEDIA ADVISORY, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- With the Presidential primaries heating up, the January 2008 issue of RELEVANT magazine reveals that many 18- to 34-year-old Christians are breaking with traditional evangelical voting trends to seek a more nuanced political approach. In addition to articles by authors Jim Wallis and Joel Hunter examining the role faith plays in the American political arena, the magazine announces the results of a national readers poll RELEVANT conducted in November and December, 2007. Among many intentionally humorous questions are some eye-opening results, including:

59 percent of readers feel that the government should fund national healthcare.

63 percent felt churches should not be allowed to support candidates.

46 percent of readers picked Hillary Clinton as the least Christian candidate.

28 percent of readers felt that Barack Obama was the candidate Jesus would be most likely to vote for. Second was Mike Huckabee with 24 percent.

Most important issues: 39% illegal immigration, 22% abortion, 19% bioethics, 12% church and state, 8% gay rights

Least important issues: 37% gay rights, 27% church and state, 15% bioethics, 11% abortion, 10% illegal immigration

"The readers poll confirmed things we've been hearing for quite some time," RELEVANT founder and publisher Cameron Strang said. "Young Christians simply don't seem to feel a connection to the traditional religious right. Many differ strongly on domestic policy issues, namely issues that affect the poor, and are dissatisfied with America's foreign policy and war.

"In general, we're seeing that twentysomething Christians hold strongly to conservative moral values, but at the same time don't feel that their personal moral beliefs need to be legislated to people who don't agree with them. It's an interesting paradox, and is creating clear division between this generation and the religious right."

For the full poll results, copies of the January 2008 issue of RELEVANT, or to arrange an interview with Cameron Strang, please contact Betsy Hickman at betsy@relevantmediagroup.com or 407-660- 1411.

Christian Leader in Xinjiang Province Arrested

KASHI, Xinjiang, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- China Aid Association learned that a House Church leader in Kashi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was secretly detained on January 12. According to an eyewitness, Mr. A Li Mu Jiang was taken away from his home by State Security Bureau agents for an accused "national security issue." His wife was also taken from her home for interrogation in the evening of the same day.

Government officials continue to persecute House Church members and Christians in Xinjiang Province, as was the case in December of 2007, in which a Christian employee of Xinjiang Pacific Agricultural Resources Development Company, Ltd, was detained and sentenced to 2-3 years reeducation through labor, for allegedly revealing State secrets. The charges were a cover however, as the real reason for his arrest stemmed from his association with the owner of the company, an American and outspoken Christian.

More details concerning the detention of Mr. A Li Mu Jiang and his wife will be released soon.

Millions Experienced God through Brownsville Revival

Millions Experienced God through Brownsville Revival

-- Lindell Cooley, Former Revival Worship Leader, Re-igniting the Passion Through Music and Outreach
SPRING HILL, Tenn., Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- When the Holy Spirit swept into Pensacola, Florida, worship leader Lindell Cooley had a front row seat from which to watch Him move. From its humble beginnings as the Brownsville Revival Assembly of God, the Pensacola Outpouring - as it came to be known - catalyzed millions of people to come together.

Today, Music Missions International (MMI) - using Cooley's music as a vehicle - hopes to recapture that same revival spirit in order to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through music, ministry, missions, and education.

Cooley is equally enthusiastic today about establishing a global community where people can re- connect through music to the indelible spirit of the Brownsville Revival. He wants to help Christians find a way to hold the revival experience in their hearts twenty-four hours a day, each and everyday. Cooley's faith in the power of worship through music, and his belief that it is possible to infuse the revival experience into everyday life, led him to create two new CDs: Encounter Worship volumes I and 2.

"At Brownsville, people flocked by the thousands to be a part of our life-changing movement of God," says Cooley, who has been the president of Music Missions International for ten years, and pastor of Grace Church in Nashville, Tennessee since 2004. "I want to revive that revival experience! By solidly establishing worship through music, I hope to help people live each day with the same enthusiasm that made Brownsville a thriving Kingdom of God."

Cooley's contribution to the Brownsville Revival was an exuberant musical program. Every night, thousands would lift their voices in song and worship to the Lord. Under Cooley's musical direction, revival service attendees were an integral part of an electrifying, music-led worship experience that was almost impossible to explain.

"I want to share all of these experiences, the sum total of my life with God, through the Encounter Worship CDs," says Cooley. "By re-connecting with past revival attendees through these CDs, and developing new bonds with audiences nationwide, I hope to firmly establish a global community of worshippers who revel in embracing God through music."

Cooley pastors his own church in Nashville, Tennessee, and travels abroad, performing his music for conferences. Cooley hopes to reach out and continually bless both a new generation and old revival fans through his new blog and online ministry, as well as via live worship experiences at his church.

"A major part of those famous revivals was music-led worship," says Cooley. "The music was a wakeup call to holiness for millions of people who came to revel in the expectation of Christ's imminent return. That same spirit and enthusiasm has been captured in all MMI's recordings, and it is our hope that it can in some way become part of every Christian's daily worship."

MMI is a not-for-profit ministry dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dozens of churches and missionaries have received free worship resources, instruments, bibles, sound systems, and financial assistance through MMI. Thousands of worship leaders have benefited from education and inspiration, and millions of people around the world have been ministered to by the worship recordings and ministry of MMI.

Audio Bible Ministry Gives Out 10,000 Bibles

Audio Bible Ministry Gives Out 10,000 Bibles

ALBUQUERQUE, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Audio Bibles are being given out and downloaded by the thousands in Albuquerque and its surrounding communities. In fact, area churches have distributed more than 8,500 Audio Bibles in MP3 format to their congregations, challenging them to listen through the whole New Testament in 40 days. More than 1,700 people have also downloaded their free New Testament from the ministry's website, FaithComesByHearing.com.

"You've Got The Time Albuquerque is off to a great start," said Jerry Jackson, Faith Comes By Hearing's founder and president. "The launch has been very successful with many churches beginning their Audio New Testament listening right after Christmas," said Jackson. "Every week, more and more churches are getting scheduled to do their Bible saturation program," Jackson said.

Launched in mid-December by Faith Comes By Hearing, You've Got The Time Albuquerque is an Audio Bible listening campaign designed to reach the unchurched, strengthen local congregations and equip people with practical and life-changing Audio Bibles.

Throughout 2008, church leaders from nearly every denomination here will distribute free Audio New Testaments and KidzBibles to every man, woman and child in their congregation. Then they will challenge their congregations to listen to the entire New Testament by spending only 28 minutes a day over a period of 40 days. Participating churches will then receive offerings for Faith Comes By Hearing's international recordings and programs, which help poor and illiterate people in other countries hear the Word of God in their own language.

Local church leaders view this campaign as a way to grow their church's faith as well as contribute to worldwide outreach.

"You've got to get the Word in and then get the Word out," said Pastor Larry Moss of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. "You can't give out what you haven't received," he said.

As part of this listening campaign, leaders at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church have given out more than 300 Audio Bibles, and recently Moss requested 75 more. Moss said his congregation received their MP3-formatted Audio New Testaments Jan. 6.

"We had a blast," he said, concerning the initial distribution. "The very first thing I heard from people was how much it meant to have different character voices and not just a single narrator," Moss said. "Every person who listened said they loved the dramatization and the background sound, too."

Moss said that the congregation and leaders at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church enjoy listening to the Audio Scriptures so much that they have committed to fund the recording of the Kyrgyzstan language in Central Asia.

"We are really going to push Bible listening hard for the next 40 days. The act of hearing the Word of God is such a powerful thing," Moss said.

Faith Comes By Hearing is also offering free Audio New Testament downloads at their website, FaithComesByHearing.com. Listeners can choose from one of 10 English versions or from 260 other languages.

"We hope that people who have never personally read or been exposed to the entire New Testament will take this opportunity to decide for themselves the value of the Bible," Jackson said.

"I don't know of any movement in history in which an entire geographical area has been offered a free New Testament in so many languages," Jackson said. "Albuquerque may be making history."

Ten more area churches will hand out Audio Bibles at their services on Sunday, Jan. 20.

To download your free Audio New Testament or to view the list of participating churches, visit FaithComesByHearing.com.

A Handbook for Today's Conservatives

A Handbook for Today's Conservatives

DALLAS, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- What if "conservative" did not just mean emphases on traditional morality, small government, and lower taxes? What if conservative also meant doing the right thing in compassion issues like Jesus did: healing the sick, feeding the hungry, appreciating the "lilies" (God's creation), and freeing the oppressed? What if believers were also enthusiastic for the furtherance of science and rigorous training in rational debate? What if conservatives were not only patriots but also valuable contributors as citizens of the world?

In his book A New Kind of Conservative (Regal, January 2008), pastor, author, and conservative spokesman Dr. Joel C. Hunter provides a field manual for the next generation of conservatives. In today's geopolitical climate, the United States, indeed the entire world, will be judged by our ability to cooperate with others who are very different from us. Whether we are conservatives or liberals, believers or secularists, we tend to define ourselves by suspicion of the other side. What if there was a way to increase our identity and our intensity for right by associating in common causes with "the enemy"?

A New Kind of Conservative offers an intriguing alternative to the angry rhetoric associated with the extreme Religious Right. While Dr. Hunter is uncompromising on issues such as abortion and the redefinition of marriage, he urges conservatives to expand their agenda to include other biblical concerns: poverty, social justice, AIDS, and the environment.

"Being compassionate doesn't mean that we surrender our distinctive characteristics or stop spreading the good news," Hunter states. "Today, Christians in the United States have a unique opportunity in history. We are a nation that was formed by differences. There are many widely agreed on improvements that people of all faiths want to make in this world. Ad hoc cooperation between or among a church, synagogue, mosque, or government agency doesn't require partnering in a spiritual sense. We can cooperate on common causes with people who believe differently as a way of being more obedient to God, who told us to love our neighbors as ourselves."

Dr. Hunter is available for interviews.

LaBarbera: New MRSA Staph Risk Spread by Gay Men Shows Risks of 'Second-Hand Sodomy'

LaBarbera: New MRSA Staph Risk Spread by Gay Men Shows Risks of 'Second-Hand Sodomy'

CHICAGO, Jan. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth ( www.americansfortruth.org), issued the following statement in reaction to news reports that a new variety of staph bacteria, MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) -- highly resistant to antibiotics and possibly transmitted by sexual contact - - is spreading among homosexual men in San Francisco and other major cities.

According to researchers, the risk of contracting this potential deadly and drug-resistant bug is 13 times greater for gay men than for the rest of San Francisco's population. The San Francisco Chronicle reports: "What is unusual in this case is the high percentage of infections -- up to 40 percent -- occurring in the buttocks and genitalia."

LaBarbera asked:

Is this not an eerie reminder of the initial stories 25 years ago about AIDS -- then called GRID (Gay- Related Immunodeficiency Disease)? It is unfathomable that after that plague, disease specialists and the media are now surprised at the correlation of new infections with homosexual behavior;

Wake up, medical and political establishment: homosexual behavior is unhealthy -- no matter how many secular sermons you preach against "homophobia." Due to liberal political correctness, which treats aberrant -- even deadly -- behaviors as a "civil right," we as a society don't seem to have learned much from the AIDS pandemic;

Why aren't all schoolchildren being taught that there are special health risks associated with homosexual behavior and that they should "just say no" to homosexuality? (Instead, schools are telling certain confused youth that they are naturally "gay," a harmless identity);

Why won't the media make the common-sense connection between these frequent stories about (male) homosexual behavior and disease -- and the notion that society should not celebrate homosexuality and bisexuality?;

Why isn't there a concerted government effort -- akin to the current anti-smoking campaigns -- to reign in homosexual promiscuity -- beginning with closing down all sex businesses (bathhouses) that facilitate homosexual perversion? We know that bisexual behavior (men on the "down low") helps spread dangerous diseases to the general population: how many deaths have to result from this "second-hand sodomy" before authorities take corrective action?;

If any other behavior were as closely linked to death and disease as male homosexuality, would we be so careful not to criticize it -- or would we offer healthy alternatives to it like abstinence and the ex-"gay" movement?
